403 Power
Yes, finally got the 403 built and installed.
On December of 2009, I decided to get started on the 403. The 350 was just getting tired. I have been buying parts here and there for the build.
List of wants for the 403:
Early small block heads
Stock bottom end
Custom ground cam
RPM intake
Qjet
So I took the block to the machine shop, had them clean up the deck, new cam bearings and freeze plugs.
My buddy tom and I started to clean all the parts and get the bottom end done.
You can see we have the crank installed and getting the pistons ready to install.

Here we have the bottom end done, and are test fitting the heads.

Engine is back at my garage, test fitting more parts

Heads are painted and bolted on, test fitting the intake again.

Its a thing of beauty.

Ready to go in.

350 coming out
403 is in, just need everything hooked up

There, all done.

Still have some sorting out to do on it. I was very lucky in that I picked up a set of #6 W-31 heads, with new springs, guides and seals, Harland Sharp roller rockers super cheap. They are 58cc heads (milled 50thou), got a great deal on pushrods and RPM intake and a few other pieces and parts. Went overboard with some other parts, but it looks good and runs good.
Now I just have to finish getting it broken in and get to the track before the end of the season to see what it will do.
