Here is the second stage

My buddy Tom and his son came over this past Sunday. He and I have been working on G body Cutlass's since we were 17. Granted we took a break while we had kids, bought houses and grew up. But now we are getting back into the car scene again. He is currently looking for a 70-72 notchback cutlass as a project.

Here we removed the engine. This hasn't been out of the car since the factory put it in place back in 87'.

At this point, the doors are still on the car, I have removed the rest of the interior, and started on the back end. I removed the rear bumper, bumper cover, gas tank, tail lights etc.

The floors are perfect, as they should be on a car that was well cared for. I have also removed the door glass and then the doors.

The next step is happening this week as I finish disconnecting the misc. stuff that is still holding the body to the frame. This weekend the body and frame should be separated. The frame will go to Tom's house for cleaning, sandblasting and painting. While that is going on, I will clean the underside of the body and paint it. Then I will install the new bushings, remount the body on the frame, and start the buildup.
