Well here we are at the 4th stage of the restification. At this point, I have taken all the components off the frame, and got it ready for sandblasting. 

The first picture here is right after sandblasting. I did it in my driveway with my buddies professional sandblasting setup. Worked great. Although I found out afterwards that it is illegal to do this in your driveway in the city. So if you plan on doing this, please check with your local laws in your town to make sure that you can do this legally. Luckily I did this on the weekend when no one was around. 

Here you can see a problem area after blasting it. The metal was starting to really rot away. This is where the number 2 body mount sits on the passenger side. 

Water has probably been coming down the cowl/firewall area, running down the frame rail and collecting right at that body mount location for the last 20 years, slowly rotting it away. And everyone thought I was crazy to strip this car down like I did. Now I can fix this area, and get it painted.

I put my car in a cocoon so as to not get over spray inside the car or anywhere I didnt want it. 

Here is the frame, cleaned, repaired for the small rust spot, and painted. Looks brand new. 

And there you have it. A nice clean frame, ready to be mounted back under the body. 

I am still cleaning the underbody, getting it ready for paint. I will be painting it the same color as the frame. The paint I am using has a nice satin finish to it, just like the way it came from the factory. I bought a gallon of it for 54 dollars. I will be painting the suspension components, firewall, underbody, radiator core support and various other parts that need to be this color with it, and the best thing is, this paint is a rust prohibitive, similar to por15.
